THE PEACE FLAG
The Peace Flag is a Global symbol. Unanimously accepted by all America's countries on the 15th of April 1935, it represents Unity in Diversity, and respect for all beliefs, in order to achieve a better world. This symbol already appear in the planet more than 9000 years ago, in the Paleolithic period, as well as in the pottery art of the Neolithic. The Symbol of the Peace Flag has had multiple representations, with the most iconic being the one form by three magenta spheres, creating a triangle pointing up with one of the vertex, and surrounded by a circle of the same colour, all over a white background. Its initiator was the distinguished artist, Nicolas Roerich (1874-1947), who chose this ancient icon thanks to their significance and universal acceptance. Respected as an emblematic symbol by both oriental and occidental cultures, it is known in India by the name of Chinataman, embedded with the gift to provide happiness through peace. In the Tibetan culture it is known as the Dispeller of Darkness, and the Dalai Lama himself, as many others Nobel of Peace winners, has expressed his profound respect for the Peace Symbol. In the occidental cultures was seen in the shields carried by the crusaders, and in the Holy Sepulchre Missal (Missale Sacramentale) of year 1330, the symbol made by the three spheres emerging from the index and middle fingers of the venerated Christ, was beautifully illustrated in gold. Through time, it was and it is represented by the Christian art, often seen at foot of different Virgins, or besides Saint Nicholas and Saint Sergius, the patron saint of Russia. And many Popes had included the icon in their blazon, as a sign of abidance and respect. In this multicultural and interreligious inclusion, the Symbol achieve the calling to Unite in Diversity, a reality that we must construct in all the aspects of our lives, if we are gong to seek a stable peace. And finally, it is through this ancient logo that we connect with the human psyche, and through it, with the most profound peace archetypes. Which in turn, stimulate us to learn and utilize this peace, and allow us to understand the nature of its true strength.
